The Pacific Northwest is full of amazing vacation rentals to suit any type of scenery you’re after: the forest, the mountains, the ocean, and the cities. Whether it’s a work retreat or a weekend off the grid, these homes top our list for fall getaways just a few hours from Portland or Seattle.
I have been obsessed with scrolling through vacation rental sites for a very long time now! I’m guilty of planning my next getaway while I’m on vacation…please tell me I’m not the only one who does this! Before having a baby a few years ago, I loved pulling up different booking sites when I needed a change of scenery during the week (fun perk of working from home) or a day away on the weekend. Now I’m a little less spontaneous (and a bit smarter with $$!) so these trips are less frequent and more thoughtfully planned.
Living in Southwest Washington, my go-to place to escape to is Mount Hood Natural Forest. I usually try to find rentals in Rhododendron or Welches with a community pool during summer and a hot tub year round. I also love booking rentals on the Oregon Coast during colder months! It may be chilly but it’s still beautiful, not to mention so much more affordable than during summer months.

My favorite Mount Hood rental find of the year is the GayFrame Getaway. I love absolutely everything about this gem, from the groovy wallpaper to the yellow and terrazzo bathroom. Can’t wait to stay here sometime!

This Luxurious Getaway in Eugene, OR has the dreamiest views! Just two hours south of Portland, it would make for such a lovely fall retreat.
I gravitate toward vacation rentals that have more modern interior decor, while still being in the middle of nowhere. If you’re looking for something with a rustic feel, Elk Cabin in Packwood, WA is so pretty, specially during fall!

Book this Private A-Frame Cabin in Mount Hood Village for the ultimate cozy weekend (don’t forget to pack puzzles!).
Manzanita is a coastal city in Oregon that is really dear to me. In a lot of ways, it reminds me of the California coast and my memories growing up there. This oceanfront modern cabin is right on the beach and has the most incredible views.
River Cabaan is a 1963 Mid-Century Riverfront Cabin in Tillamook, OR that been featured in so many design publications, and I can see why. It’s stunning, secluded, and right on the Wilson River. It can also now be rented as a venue for elopements and small weddings!
Can you believe how gorgeous this apartment is? Located above Lucky Duck Shop & Café in Carlton, OR, this rental has so many artful details I adore – a yarn wrapped lamp, warm wood panel walls, butter yellow accents, a pink door…I could go on! I live about an hour away and I will be visiting. Book here!

The Woodlands House in Sandy, OR has been on my slowcation list for a few years now! Love the large windows, magical string lights, and of course the hot tub. This home can also be rented for photoshoots or events.
Camp Randonnee is a campus of four modern Scandinavian cabins in Downtown Mosier, OR. Each cabin accommodates 1-2 people and is conveniently located near hiking trails and yummy food spots. Book directly here.

I’ve stayed at Pelican Crest in Neskowin, OR twice, once for a puzzle weekend and once with family. It’s so comfortable and the town is really sweet. I love stopping into Neskowin Provisions for local goodies. Book directly here.

These are all so enchanting! We’ll be updating this post as we discover more cozy rentals for fall!
