Whether it’s trying to get to the bottom of stress and anxiety or embarking on a mission to make sense of the past, many of us would consider ourselves on a healing journey during this season of life. I’m sure to some, “healing” is just another wellness buzzword, but I think our society is finally inching along the path toward openness when it comes to mental health. That’s why I’m totally on board with the concept of mental health “influencers”, using Instagram as a platform to share their knowledge and compassion with others. There is so much to gain from hearing one another’s perspective… Especially as an introvert who feels at-home with online communities.
10 accounts to follow on your healing journey
Therapist Meghan of @thrive_withmeg shares compassionate insight on topics such as boundaries, self judgment, and grief. I love her mental health check-ins.
@healwithmedina uses somatic healing + the mind/body connection to share about nervous system regulation, learning from our triggers, and the ups and downs of the healing journey.
You may already be one of the 4.6 million people following Dr. Nicole LePera, author of How To Do The Work and the account @the.holistic.psychologist. Dr. LePera empowers us to take control of our own healing.
Author and mental wellness expert @yasminecheyenne provides little tidbits like this that encourage us all to think about how we can create more peace and ease in our lives.
If you’ve ever struggled from burnout or overwhelm, or getting stuck in an obsession with self-improvement, @katierapkoch will set you straight. Rather than health advice that promises to help you show up as your “best” self (ie be more productive, successful etc), Katie asks us to question why we believe we need to fix ourselves in the fist place.
If you learned about @internalfamilysystems in the book The Body Keeps The Score, the official IFS account will deepen your understanding. It’s a really interesting way to view all of the “parts” within.
Psychologist @your.bodytalks offers up simple, no frills messages on wellness and the body/mind connection.
@anabell.ingleton approaches healing from a slightly different but still important angle: money. There is so much baggage when it comes to women and money. Anabell helps us get to the root of our limiting beliefs around work, success, and financial freedom.
As the name suggests, Dr. Rathika of @thespiritual_psychologist approaches the healing journey from a spiritual approach, asking questions for self reflection and providing tips on healing wounds.
Lastly, another favorite of mine to follow is Bianca Gabrielle of @emotionalfreedomcoach who offers support and guidance for those wishing to change their realities. Her EFT tapping sessions are so valuable, not to mention notes on understanding + releasing emotions and creating healthy patterns.
