I never cared for jewelry boxes, and not because my jewelry collection is small (though lovely). I always envisioned them as the chunky, cherry wood rectangles taking up too much real estate on my mom’s dresser in the 90s. Recently, I came across more modern iterations of jewelry storage, most of which are perfectly sized to keep your beloved jewels safe while traveling (I have a habit of losing rings at hotels). My style preference is a yummy velvet, but our roundup below features beads, lacquer and more!

The one drawback to small jewelry boxes could be potential chain tangling if you’re a big necklace wearer. Still, it beats my previous solution of throwing it in my tote bag’s side pocket for it to wiggle its way into an unwearable mess.
Do you use jewelry boxes to store your collection, or do you have a more creative way to display?
