Have you heard of Morning Pages? It’s a practice developed by Julia Cameron, author of The Artist’s Way, a workbook that nearly every creative human seems to explore at some point along their artistic journey, sometimes ritually. But whether or not you recognize the term, Morning Pages is simply the habit of journaling, but with two perimeters: you do this each morning, before anything else. And, you write three pages, no matter what.
It’s a sort of guided brain dump that encourages you to clear your head before moving onto the day’s tasks. I’m a lifelong journaler, particularly because it helps ease my anxiety, and find that three pages as a guideline can be very helpful for my morning routine. On days that I don’t want to write, it forces me to open up, and I feel accomplished having put in my three pages. On other days, it simply sets my session off, leading to more insights than expected.

So whether you are beginning a Morning Pages practice of your own, or just want to explore a new journaling practice for self care, it’s nice to have a shiny new notebook to fill with those daily three pages. Some of these are blank, and some have prompts to support you, which I think is particularly helpful for those new to the ritual. Some focus on wellness or self-love, and others are more general. No matter which you choose, I hope these beautiful designs encourage and inspire you along your creative journey.
