Several years ago, I worked at a popular lighting factory where I had to learn all the things about light fixtures. Everything from fixture finishes and lightbulb wattage to measurements and the actual installation process. Tedious as it sounds, I secretly love researching and memorizing random facts so this was kinda enjoyable. While the job wasn’t for me, my love for creative light fixtures only intensified after that season.
Whenever I walk into a new restaurant, shop, or even someone’s home, I look up to the ceiling almost instinctively. It’s so interesting to see what kinds of light fixtures people choose for their space (of course, extra heart eyes for old homes that have their original lighting!).
While I’m all for a simple mid-century modern globe light, the maximalist in me adores bold, unexpected lighting. Why not have your lighting serve as art in your home? Here are some of my favorite finds.
