Since my bar cart mostly serves the purpose of displaying my thrifted vintage pink depression glasses (and candy bowls), it was easy to jazz it up for Valentine’s Day and my anniversary two weeks before. It also makes it somewhat of a blank slate, with the pink as a jumping off point (see how we transformed it for Christmas here)—we don’t have a ton of beverages or supplies on it, as we aren’t super frequent hosts. Honestly, when spring rolls around I might turn it into more of a plant cart! Anyway, it was fun to use Valentine’s Day as an excuse to create a DIY candy cart for date night, complete with all of our favorite (pink) treats, rosé, and a couple choice decor pieces from the shop.
I adorned our candy cart with our little heart beaded bag (sold out), which was handmade for wallflower, for no other reason than it’s just darling for Valentine’s. Oh, and Zuahaza’s woven salmon & burgundy charger on the second little shelf was perfect for adding layers to this set up. They’re gorgeously made and can be used for so many things.
I reused one of our DIY Christmas crackers from our pink + green holiday party, because apparently I hadn’t gifted them all!
We love to stock up on local treats. Our favorites are black and white chocolate covered gummy bears, Seattle Chocolate truffles (literally perfect for Valentine’s Day and the wrappers are compostable!!!), candy kittens (Kevin’s favorite) and cookies from Hello Robin here in Seattle.
I had gone months without buying flowers, as it’s all out of season here in the PNW. If I’d stayed local (which is always my goal), this bar cart would either have dried flowers or twigs or something. And I’ve gone the dried flower route so many times. So I caved and got some spray roses from the grocery store to add to this funky tall, slender vase I thrifted last weekend. They smell so good and definitely brightened my week.
These bubblegum pink taper candles are from our shop! They’re sustainably made and come in a few different colorways.
This pretty scalloped pink napkin, which I throw on just about every spread, is similar to the linen napkins listed in our shop as well.
