Earlier this spring, I set out on a journey to update the art prints around my apartment. It was my next project after finally filling in this gap in between our wall and TV sideboard, that was just begging for a big (faux) plant. That was only on my mind for oh, three years, before I did something about it. After a loooong COVID winter inside, I vowed to get on fixing all these little things in my apartment that I knew could be more inspiring and mood-boosting. Next up: replacing all of my 6+ year old wall art with new pieces (which in reality is only a few, so I also needed to add to my collection), that felt fresh, vibrant, and INSPIRING!
My vibe is soft pastel, with pops of color and nature-inspired elements. Here are the most dreamy abstract prints and originals I came across in my search, including the ones I ended up purchasing!
I’m considering this first piece, Like A Promise by Boriana Mihailovska, for a particularly dreary area in my living room.
STILL adore this Sunrise Impression giclee by Yangyang Pan, who has been inspiring us all on Etsy since 2008!
Like I said, I did update a couple areas already. I now have this Oceano art print by Wilde House Paper on display in my apartment, beautifying my mantel!
I prefer to leave the printing to the artists themselves, but if you’re looking for affordable art, you can always go with a printable like this abstract landscape print by Nuuillustrations.
I just discovered Laura Gee thanks to my obsessive searching on Pinterest (my feed is 100% abstract rn), and wow, such lovely art prints, such as the above titled “It’s Still Light Outside”. What a beautiful title to describe all of my feels each spring.
Mesmerized by artist Ash Holmes’ mixed media collection, Recollection Echo, which features paint layered on film images printed on canvas.
Aremy Stewart’s original abstract wood-paneled art piece, Hill Walking, would cheer up any room.
Lesley Frenz is one of my favorite Pacific Northwest artists, who I once interviewed for Luxe Magazine! This acrylic on canvas is called Gentle the Rain.
This archival print by Noelle Phares is a dreamy take on a conservatory. Stunning!
I’ve admired Tanya Val’s artwork in photography, floral design, and now, painting! I love the Something About You Abstract Art Print as well as her new Wildflower collection with botanical inks. Be sure to follow Tanya’s blog if you love learning about the painting process, and in particular natural inks!
Australian artist Tahnee Kelland has prints from multiple series’ available online… I love both these ethereal portraits AND the cheeky prints in her Awkward series.
Lastly, here is the original abstract art on canvas that I purchased from French artist Corinne Gegot on Etsy. It’s a soft pastel seascape which is exactly what I was looking for:
(I imagine this print eventually displayed on a white wall, but that’s a project for another day/month/year!)
Through this process, I not only found my first piece of original artwork, but so many prints it will be difficult to choose the next few to put on display!
How often do you update the art prints and wall art displayed in your home?
