It’s spring, which is arguably the best season to flaunt everyone’s favorite classic check pattern, gingham! Spring in the shop has inspired us to gather all of the other patterned products into a colorful and FUN collage (slash summer wishlist) of favorites, as inspired by our green picnic basket and headband below.
Top to Bottom, Left to Right: Frankie Red Scallop Scrunchie from Loeffler Randall | Pink Serving Plate by Rosie Gore | Tuckernuck Juniper Warped Gingham Emmaline Top (on sale!) | Yellow Linen Gingham Heart Ruffle Pillow by Agnes Store Goods | Heather Taylor Home Cotton Gingham Table Cloth | Gingham Picnic Basket from wallflower | Round Ottonman Tattie by Shop Little Design Co | Loeffler Randall Pouches Set | Ariana Red Ric Rack Mini Dress by Olivia Rubin | Pink Checker Bucket Hat from Homesite | Zoe Check Slipper by Patricia Green | Plaid Picnic Blanket from wallflower | Sass & Belle Green Mug | Ruffle Headband from wallflower | Gingham Pant from Coming of Age
A pink gingham dress is kind of a must for spring these days, no? (Preferably a ric rac dress as pictured above… reminds us of when we first started seeing its revival on the scene and had fun with it here!) And it seems like all the cool kids have a pair of pants reminiscent of the pair I rocked in the 6th grade (except they are not tight fitting capris, thankfully). Another lesson in summer trend revivals: bucket hats are still very much in style.
When it comes to home decor, we love seeing gingham in ways that are far from traditional (as pretty as it looks when styled in more classic ways like this)—with something that adds a little whimsy like a heart shaped pillow or multicolored fabric. I know the funky ottoman above is more of a plaid, but OMG, is it beautiful. The pattern from Little Design Co is Anna Spiro’s “Tattie” and I so badly want to see it on a fully upholstered chair!
By the way, everyone is doing big, fun, messy, editorial style collages these days. (Canva makes it too easy… especially for those of us used to hacking them together in Photoshop!) We’re having lots of fun with it because it reminds us of the early days of blogging where things didn’t need to be so refined. Plus, it’s a fun static way to create content in a world obsessed with video. How are you liking the collages? Is it inspiring to you or would you rather see images laid out more simply?
