How To Activate a Mindset Shift

published on 7/28/21 by Courtney Ciandella

I believe superheroes do exist. The magical warriors exhibit superhuman abilities and conquer any obstacle that lands in their path, seemingly with ease. These creatures are real, and they are more common than any Marvel film, or comic strip depicts them to be. That’s because I believe all human beings embody the capabilities of a superhero. Maybe we don’t all have the physical strength, speed, or agility that these fictional characters possess, but we all encompass the most powerful skill there is: the ability to active a mindset shift, any time we need it.

We may not be able to hoist a school bus off the pavement or fly through the air with our red capes, but we do have the power to shift our mindsets to believe in the impossible. The influence to achieve our burning desires and overcome the negative thoughts that envelop our brains. We can command our thinking, shifting them in the direction of our goals and dreams. We just need to activate a mindset shift.

what it means to activate a mindset shift

Before any steps can be introduced to trigger a shift in our thinking, it’s crucial to establish what actually “activating” the mindset means. Simply put, it switches the trajectory of our thought to a more constructive and positive light, rather than the pessimistic outlook our brains often acquire. It inspires us to look at the bright side and expect a more favorable outcome for our futures. Below, I outlined how to activate a mindset shift in a few steps to get you closer to attaining your burning desires.

Notice your present thoughts and identify your burning desires

Similar to a superhero just discovering their supernatural abilities, humans often don’t realize that we have the power to alter the world around us. We can manipulate the course of our lives if we adjust the way we view what’s right in front of us. This begins with first noticing our present thoughts and then identifying the burning desires we yearn for.

By becoming aware of how we’re currently thinking, we can determine if we lack the mindset to work towards our aspirations. It helps to observe our thoughts from an outsider’s perspective to understand better what is holding us back from reaching the outcomes we envision. For instance, if you manifest a dream to become a role model to others (a modern-day superhero), how have your thoughts played a role in holding you back? Do you believe in yourself to make this fantasy a reality?

Demonstrate an abundance mindset rather than a scarcity mindset

Once you comprehend what you are thinking, consider why these thoughts arise. Ask yourself why your thoughts tend to veer into a negative light. What drives your mind to deny you from achieving something more significant than you ever imagined? This could be the result of words your family or friends have spoken to you, contradicting any positive self-talk you could muster. Or the limiting beliefs that you’ve harbored, making you doubt that you could master what others around you have achieved.

This type of thinking can be grouped within a scarcity mindset. This mindset is the mentality that there is not enough success in the world left for you. There are so many other role models (aka superheroes) roaming the earth that you don’t deserve to hold the title. On the other hand, by demonstrating an abundance mindset, you recognize an endless supply of opportunities available for everybody, and you should continue to explore those avenues. By aiming to embody an abundance mindset, you steer your thoughts down the pathway towards your desires.

Design an action plan to activate the mindset shift

You are now learning how to adopt the abundance mindset, leaving the final step to the mindset activation process: design an action plan. Decipher what you need to accomplish to shift your mindset further along towards your desires. This may be introducing exercises like daily meditation or keeping a gratitude journal, tools that can help you retrain your brain to welcome the growth that you are capable of.

Only you have the controls to your mindset, which means you can sway your thinking any way you wish. Trust that the powers are within you and that you can be your real-life superhero.

What additional actions would you take to activate a shift in your mindset towards your burning desires?
