Do you shop Etsy for home decor? I’ve been a regular Etsy customer/peruser/favoriter since I first discovered it back in 2008, the year I graduated high school. So decorating my apartment with decor found on Etsy has always been kind of a hobby, but it totally requires patience and a lottttt of time. Last summer I was on a balcony decor kick (and I mean, I’m always on a Moroccan rugs kick) so I bookmarked about a zillion more Etsy shops than usual. That’s when I discovered the rug designer and producer, Zayania, behind Etsy’s Moroccan Shop. And what can I say? Instantly OBSESSED.
A rug that looks like funfetti cake, WHAT?
The voice behind the brand, Assya Zayania, is a designer, artist, and curator from The Middle Atlas in Morocco, an area known for its incredible beni ourain rugs.
Assya’s own family has been making rugs for generations.
Each one is literally more stunning than the last.
Not that I’m a rug expert, but I will say that I’ve pored over thousands of rugs on Etsy and beyond in the past couple years. I love home decor, and I am committed to making ethical purchases, and both require a ton of research behind each purchase. Luckily, I find it way too fun! All that to say, this shop is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen, marrying traditional techniques with modern trends, and I just had to share a bit more 🙂
