Last week we shared the photos Charity took of our holiday shop setup with my pink Christmas tree. Today we have part two of that shoot, which is all about Christmas party ideas with a red + pink theme! For this “friendsmas” party, all we had were a small dining table (like, tiny), a coffee table, and a bar cart for surfaces to feature snacks and surprises. But we really made the most of it!
Instead of a traditional tablecloth, we layered a few of our handmade scalloped napkins across the table to create a maximalist look with our porcelain plates, vintage candy dishes and depression glass coupes.
I had seen pink candy “charcuterie” boards on Pinterest before (mostly for Valentine’s Day) and wanted to add our own spin! I tried as best I could to layer it with sweet treats that don’t contain palm oil as that’s more sustainable. Perfect for Friendsmas!
For a holiday bar cart, we went with a red, pink, and green Christmas theme. I physically cannot throw a party without pink decor, so it all came together quite naturally between my vintage glassware and our holiday products. I also made DIY Christmas crackers with pink tissue paper and gold ric rac, which I’ll use as charming little stocking stuffers now that the party is over. But they make great favors, too!
During the shoot I wore the prettiest, glitteriest, Celia B sequin dress. I’ve been a fan of Celia B for years as an ethical alternative to many popular fashion brands and having recently joined Nuuly I had the chance to try it out for the month! So beautiful and I totally would have purchased it if I had more places to go to show it off!
For the cocktails, we thought of a really fun idea which was to tie ribbon bows around the coupes! It’s like a festive take on wine tags so everyone remembers which drink is theirs at the party. I got the vintage ribbons and ricrac from my local creative reuse store, and the delicate rayon ribbons that we wrapped gifts with are available in the shop.
I source locally whenever possible (whether it’s a shoot, party, or gift), and being delicious and ethical/sustainable, Seattle Chocolate was an obvious choice!
Isn’t this lavender nutcracker holiday gift wrap so cute? It’s just so nice to receive a gift with beautiful, creative gift wrap that you’ve never seen before!
We’re having such a blast with our first holiday season as not only a creative studio, but a shop too! I hope you enjoy these Christmas party ideas and find a way to incorporate creative ways to connect with loved ones before the New Year!
