Prepare for a long post, friends, because I’m really jazzed up about all things vases. In the past we’d written about our love of unique vases probably more than is normal for any lifestyle blog, but they’ve all become reader faves. Finally it occurred to me that we should just have one giant, glorious guide dedicated to these most precious displayers of flowers, that we will update regularly (promise!) with fresh, new designs. So if you’re looking to shop spring vases, whether glass, ceramic, large or small, you’ll find everything you need right here.
So, why the fascination with vases? We’re big fans of beautiful design and its ability to transform the spaces you spend the most time within into inspiring places to be. But that extends from design to nature, and flowers have forever been used to enhance spaces of all kinds.

Where to shop spring vases with unique designs
I’ve always been flower obsessed, as much as you can be for someone who has never tended a garden, but several years ago I begun learning about floral design and the creativity that goes into it. (You can probably credit my past job as an editor for a wedding blog for that one.) Almost every weekend all spring and summer with flowers in bloom here in the PNW, I head to the market to get big bunches of seasonal blooms. I get home, put them in buckets on my balcony, and deconstruct them, only to reconstruct into arrangements of my own. After all these years I’m still very much a hobbyist but a few friends (Jenn included) have been kind enough to let me run wild with flowers for their own life events.

Obviously the vessel plays a role in the overall aesthetic of florals. Flowers to me represent all that is right in the world (is that dramatic?), I don’t just want to throw them in the nearest glass (though that’s fine of course, as are mason jars for everyday displays.) I love the idea of combining nature’s design of flowers with the human-driven creativity of handcrafted vases to produce something special.

McKenzie-Childs is such a fun brand but usually their color palettes don’t *totally* jibe with my soft style. Enter the rose capiz glass vase, made with tile layered on glass.
Fazeek’s signature embellished glass design sure elevates your average vase! Love the cube vase too.

Bud vases are perfect for those little spaces around your home that just need an extra something. They are also a great way to be able to display lots of flowers in minimalist arrangements throughout your home or event.

ikebana vases
I’ve attempted the Japanese style of floral design called Ikebana on many occasions, but being more of a maximalist who can’t keep things tame when it comes to flowers, I often end up adding too many stems to give off that beautiful and minimalist effect. The cool thing about Ikebana design is that you can use virtually any shallow vessel to create your arrangement. Start with what’s in your cabinet to get a feel for the style, and when you’re ready, move on to creating minimalist floral arrangements in one of these specially designed Ikebana vases:
Handmade glossy glazed Ikebana vases by Umma Ceramics are the perfect place to start.
A unique, textural shallow ceramic vase for Ikebana design. Ikebana is just as much about the space between as it is the stems themselves, and while I’d be tempted to cram three floral frogs here to fill that space, I appreciate how the most beautiful arrangements prove that less is more.
Maybe I should opt for an Ikebana vase with a built-in floral frog, so I don’t go overboard. Love this piece from Jake’s Clay Art.
I hope this inspires you to shop spring vases that feel just as beautiful as the flowers themselves!
