My style is anything but traditional when it comes to fashion or decor—an always-polished look is lovely to see but not something I can or really even want to pull off consistently. Yet, there are some classic looks that just draw me in every time (especially in fall, when suddenly my tastes go from whimsically pastel to earth hues and holiday tones). Tartan plaid has always been one of those more traditional styles that inexplicably mesmerize, whether it’s in fashion or home furnishings. And this year, there were too many examples of this to ignore, so I’ve collected them all for you (read: me):

shop the trend: tartan plaid for fall
Tartan Plaid Napkins Set of 4 | American Trench Wool Ball Cap | The Pink Tartan Napkins | Nobody’s Child Tartan Scrunchie | Tuckernuck Pleated Skirt (No Longer Available) | Boden Embellished Bow Block Heels | Bow Bag | Blackwatch Selena Blouse | Windsor Tartan Table Cloth
The big bows, not to mention the addition of pink and lavender in some of these products adds just that perfect touch of whimsy that I love to see, but for the most part, these tartan plaid beauties are a style that’s universally adored.

This green plaid midi dress with feather trim from Carmen Says gives tartan a wintry touch. Their style is anything but classic, so I love to see how they work something like plaid into their repertoire.

Here at wallflower we looooove TBCo. We offer their blankets and some decor goodies in our shop! No surprise their pajama line is just as beautiful and cozy. Their Cotton Frill Pajamas in Navy Tartan Plaid are on my wishlist. They come in XS-3X.
Puffy? Check. Oversized bow? Check. Perfectly plaid? Yep, that too. This tartan bow bag from Barcelona-based Dr Bloom also comes in a classic blue or red!
Matching sets are in, whether it’s PJs like TBCo or a casual daytime set like this tartan plaid look from Pink City Prints. The ruffle bag is no longer available, but made the perfect accent (not unlike the bow bag above!).
