I love that maximalism is trending right now. Minimalist decor and style just isn’t me, which I know is a little contradictory considering I try to be as eco friendly as possible and a conscious consumer. (That’s why I started writing about conscious maximalism on our other blog). While maximalism is all about layers and colors and textures, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not thoughtful and intentional about your space! The pillows we’ve rounded up today look pretty all lined up together, sure, but the eclectic maximalist will take the ones she knows will give her furniture *just the right* splash of lovely, and leave the rest. Which few would you choose?

My apartment is pretty small, so I have to be extra intentional about what I bring inside. Nothing stays if it’s not super functional, or doesn’t delight me to be in its company – which is probably why it takes me years to land on a foundational piece like an area rug (see why I love rugs for small spaces here, btw). But yes, even things as everyday as a pillow need to pass the test. My current pillows are warm jewel tones to contrast against my velvety teal couch and fluffy pink rug. I’d love to layer on a print or two.
