Finally, the moment we (at least here in the PNW) have been waiting for all year: Spring is officially here! We have 7 straight days of sun forecasted (not that I’d ever recommend trusting a Seattle weather prediction—it changes by the minute and too many times the exact opposite has happened) and I’ll be outside until further notice. I hope that where ever you are you are able to get outdoors, breathe in some fresh air, and celebrate the beginning of a season of growth and renewal and sunshine and flowers! We have a very on-trend edition of fun with trends today, celebrating one of spring’s earliest bloom, the humble tulip.
Tulip motifs seem to be everywhere as of late—painted upon our favorite ceramics, printed on fashion, and dangling from pendants. I especially love that this is a symbol artists and designers have loved for generations, so it’s fun to see the different eras’ translation of the spring bloom in trends. Below, a few favorite vintage tulip decor pieces are mixed in with new:
Right to Left, Top to Bottom: Tulip Stem Pin by And Here We Are | The Tulip Garden book from Phaidon | Spring Flower Earrings by Sunnie Creative | Claw Clips by Loeffler Randall | Lost Pattern Twilly Scarf | Vintage Culver Pastel Tulip Tumbler Glasses (more colors available!) from Vintage Home Bodega (their shop is amazing for those who love vintage glassware!) | Pasta Bowl by Where’s The Mud | Candle Holder by Chefanie | Scalloped Letterpress Coaster Set by And Here We Are | Studio Roof Tulip Love Bouquet from Little Fuss | Handmade, Handpainted Mug with Tulip Handle by Cugino Ceramics | Set of 3 Vintage Pink Frosted Glass Tulip Candlesticks from Bespoke on Brookline (their whole shop is grandmillennial vintage decor heaven) | Amanda Lucia Cote Vase with Rainbow Tulips | Stained Glass Flower Stir Spoon from A Bit Sleepy
Love the fruit and tulips hand-painted on these vases, cups, and bowls by Nikkie Stutts Ceramics.
