I recently invested in a new bed and nightstands, after years of a very mismatched collection of bedroom furniture (a much-too-large end table on one side, nothing on the other, and an Ikea bed frame with no headboard in the “middle”… you’d think I never left college). It’s been on my list for years, but decorating my living room always came first (and honestly, it could use an upgrade at this point, too!) While I believe the bedroom should be the ultimate sanctuary (I take my sleep very seriously), and am working to achieve that goal, the living room is something guests see right away, so it’s easier to justify dropping hundreds of dollars on. Now that I’ve finally got a few new pieces in the bedroom (now if only I could wish away the drab carpet in my rental, but more on what to do about that later), my next task is to find a unique table lamp to put on it! Here are all the cute lamps I’ve come across in my search, so far…
cute lamps in pink, mint, blue, and gold

I purchased a set of these mango wood nightstands, to act as a bit of a neutral so that I could add whatever color I wanted in the form of books, candles, and of course, a unique table lamp! This one is my top contender at the moment, as it complements my pink quilt (which is now on clearance, along with a dreamy light moss color that I’m very tempted by, BTW), but I do love the idea of opting for a vintage lamp. Pink is my favorite color, but I appreciate contrast, so I like to offset it with some cool, minty greens and teals. When it comes to metals, I prefer brushed gold, but I know chrome is having a big moment.
The matching set of nightstands is probably just about as traditional matchy-matchy as I’ll get, I love a bit of asymmetry in design so a single lamp will do. Which would you choose? Once I have everything put together (and have found a solution for the embarrassing carpet situation), perhaps I’ll edit this post with a pic.
