When it comes to home decor, the candy dish is definitely underrated. A decorative bowl or glass dish to hold treats (preferably locally made chocolate truffles), always ready for the visitor with a sweet tooth. It’s pretty much exactly what we talk about when we say we love whimsy. We’ve always been delighted to find pretty glassware during a local thrift adventure or Etsy scroll, so the fact that candy dishes, of all things, are having a moment is call for celebration (we mean a blog post, obviously). We can’t guarantee it, but we think you might just love these finds as much as you love butter dishes.

Creating these shopping guides are not only way too much fun (and a much needed break from client work), we often learn a few fun facts along the way. Like for example, that pastel glass basket (the very last pictured). We had no idea these little Fenton baskets were such a big deal and produced in tons of colors in the 90s and before. According to the Fenton website, an artist had less than 30 seconds to shape and attach the handles before the glass cooled. Each maker left their own mark on the baskets to signify who created it.
When I saw all of these, I almost pivoted this post to be a far-too-niche “glass basket candy dish” post. But we couldn’t leave behind the other bowls we’d found. So instead, here are a few other options we came across on Etsy during our search, because this silly little design makes us smile. (This one is a personal fave.) What glass collector wouldn’t want to own one of these?!
