When it comes to gift giving, housewarming gifts are such an underrated gesture. But settling into a new home is a big deal (and usually comes after a lot of planning and hard work), and there’s nothing like outfitting a new space with a few fresh goodies. If your friend or loved one is hosting you for the first time, it’s also a simple way to say “happy new home” and “thanks for having us” in one. Plus, I love to show up with a conversation starter especially when flowers are out of seasons or the recipient isn’t big on wine. Clearly, I’ll take any excuse to give a good gift, especially one I know will brighten a home.

Our shop always has something to offer in the way of gifts, but I noticed lately it’s feeling particularly perfect for those little decor and wares that you may not always think of buying yourself, but are delighted to receive once it’s given to you. Something like a new and unique coffee table book like Haskell Harris’ The House Romantic, or a set of placemats or napkin rings they can take out whenever friends stay for dinner. We already know everyone wants a cute butter dish right now, and this lilac confetti design would make a welcome addition to any light and airy kitchen. The olive and pink candlesticks are new in the shop. They’re really well crafted and look sleek on any shelf or mantel. Archive New York’s rainbow woven napkins are some of our very favorites for adding joy and color occasions big and small. For something smaller and less of an investment, our circus jars with lids are completely handmade, and, cute coasters are always welcome housewarming gifts in my experience. Lastly, the illustrated greeting card above reads “cheers to you… congrats,” and this “home sweet home” card does the job too.
